Driveway & Crossover Traffic Management Plans

Many Victorian councils won't approve a vehicle crossing (crossover) permit, or works on a nature strip or footpath, until they've seen a traffic management plan from a qualified company. We prepare that plan for a fixed $350 + GST and send it back within one business day, ready to go with your council application.

  • Fixed price: $350 + GST
  • Back within one business day
  • Prepared by a VicRoads pre-qualified designer
  • Council paperwork filled in for you: +$80 + GST

What's included

Everything in scope.

  • Traffic management plan for your driveway or crossover works
  • Traffic guidance scheme (site layout) to AS 1742.3
  • Footpath and pedestrian management for the works area
  • Sign and device layout
  • Formatted to go with your council permit application
  • Optional: we fill in the council permit paperwork (+$80 + GST)

How it works

Process.

  1. 1

    Send the details

Site address, council, what the works are and when. A site plan or photo helps.

  2. 2

    We prepare the plan

Drafted to AS 1742.3 by our designers and back to you within one business day.

  3. 3

    Lodge it with council

Attach the plan to your permit application. For an extra $80 + GST we fill in the paperwork, so all you do is lodge it.

  4. 4

    Start works

Once council approves, keep a copy of the plan on site while the works are on.

Compliance

Plans prepared to AS 1742.3 and the Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management (AGTTM). MLA Traffic is on the VicRoads pre-qualification register for Traffic Management Design (TMD), Categories 1 & 2.

Turnaround

Within one business day of receiving your site details. Approval times after that are set by your council.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

Do I need a traffic management plan for a crossover?
It depends on your council, and more of them ask for one than people expect. Mornington Peninsula Shire requires a plan and an MOA application before any crossover works. Whittlesea requires a plan for any works that occupy a road, lane or footpath, and Maroondah requires a traffic management permit for works on roads, footpaths or nature strips. If you're not sure, ask your council or send us the address.
How much does it cost?
$350 + GST for the plan. If you'd also like us to fill in the council permit paperwork so you only need to lodge it, that's an extra $80 + GST.
How quickly will I get it?
Within one business day of us receiving your site details.
Is the price different on a main road?
No. The plan is $350 + GST for any crossover, whether it's on a council road or a main road managed by the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). Works on a main road also need DTP's consent, so tell us the address and we'll confirm what your job needs.
Who lodges the permit with council?
Usually you do, as the owner or builder. We can fill in the paperwork for you for $80 + GST so it's ready to lodge.
Do I need traffic controllers on the day?
The plan will show whether your works need them. If they do, we can supply the crew, quoted separately.
